angry old man

It has been some time since the last post.  Much has happened.  My brother has gone on ahead. My wife is losing her sight. I am looking at my 75th holiday season.  And if it were not for my wife and her children, as well as my brothers and my sister, I would be alone in this world.  Oh, I have one daughter thtoat cares about her father, but she is stricken with MS and it is difficult for her to do anything anymore.  She has always had time to talk to her dad.  And I try to remember to call her and let her know that I love her.  Travelling is nIt has been some time since the last post.  Much has happened.  My brother has gone on ahead. My wife is losing her sight. I am looking at my 75th holiday season.  And if it were not for my wife and her children, as well as my brothers and my sister, I would be alone in this world.  Oh, I have one daughter that cares about her father, but she is stricken with MS and it is difficult for her to do anything anymore.  She has always had time to talk to her dad.  And I try to remember to call her and let her know that I love her.  Travelling is  not something I can really do anymore so I can do little for her.  Her siblings, such as they are, ignore her as it is too inconvenient for them to acknowledge that she is part of their family history.  Or they feel inadequate around her illness.  Time they grew up.

If they ever find this, they will be upset. So what. I  do not care what they think or feel.  I firmly believe that I am an embarasment to them and they wish that I would conform to their ideals and morays. I probably have changed.  Anyone watching this great country of ours being flushed down the tubes should be changed. I have studied history during my life. And I have read a lot of what if stories of many genres and somehow the worst of them is playing out in front of me.   I often wondered how the german people were misled to not fully know what was being done to their country but it is being done again to us by the "progressive" elitists of the Democratic party. But who am I to say anything. I am one of the elderly that they wish to sweep under the rug and bury so we do not upset their games. As I started to say earlier I no longer have any children beyond my one daughter.  My children and grandchildren have made it a pointed fact that I mean nothing to them unless it means something to them or for them. I no longer care.

Yes, I do.  I am angry and alone except for my brothers and my sister and my daughter.  If it were not for my wife and her daughter and grand daughters, I would have no family life.  They know what is happening with me and to me.  They have some idea that I have had 2 bad sessions with my heart. That I am still working because I need the money. That I have had all my teeth removed and now have 2 full denture plates. Because they dont care enough to even pick up the phone to just say hello.

Brief condensation of history

For those that don't know about history ... Here is a condensed version:

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers.

They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:

1 . Liberals, and
2. Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to BBQ at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement...

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly BBQ's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.

Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. They became known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided.

Over the years conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass for obvious reasons.

Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare.. Another interesting evolutionary side note: most of their women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink domestic beer, mostly Bud or Coors. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, engineers, corporate executives,
athletes, members of the military, airline pilots and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained
in Europe when conservatives were coming to America . They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.

Here ends today's lesson in world history:

It should be noted that a Liberal may have a momentary urge to angrily respond to the above before forwarding it.
A Conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth of this history that it will be forwarded immediately to other true believers and to more liberals just to piss them off.

And there you have it…Let your next action reveal your true self, I'm going to have another beer.

Good morning World

Here it is 0800 and I thought it was time to add a post. Things have been busy, but quiet here. We had a visitor this week, Ida. The tropical storm. There is not any damage done other than some tree limbs in places as far as my neighborhood. It is in the 40's this morning in Pensacola and quite sunny. We are getting ready for the annual turkey day. As an employee of Wally World, I will be out very early on friday am for what they refer to as Blitz Day. But I will be home in the mid morning.

We have made a few modifications in the schedule this year as so many of our immediate family will be working on Thanksgiving Day. We have elected to have our celebration on Friday after everyone else and that is a good thing. Darilyn has to go in for surgery again on 12/1 to have the other carotid artery cleared so her pre-op is on that friday. It seems to work out much better this way, to have the bird on friday. Right now, I am working on a grand-daughter's computer to remove virus infection and install the software needed to keep it safe. Never get away from doing what you know how to do it seems. And that is a good thing.

Adieu.

Sunday Morning in the South

Good morning world.

I am engaged in what has become a fairly normal sunday morning for me. Because my lady wife is working weekends for the next couple of months, I am engaged in taking care of myself and the home. And in a new hobby of sorts. I have discovered a website that is the host for music that I have occasionally listened to on weekends on public radio. It is called "space music" and has been around for 25 or so years. Give a listen to it if you have an interest. It is http://hos.com. They produce a weekly show of ambient music of all genres. And I have found a tool to record streams from the internet so I save the programs for later listening.

I also spend some time at the pastime of creating breakfast and other meals during the day. Today, it was my take on the Mickey D's egg muffin delight. Other than the probable original ingredients, I feel it is better. Of course. For anyone of interest, I chop up a small amount of fresh onion, probably about 1/8 cup. I also chop 1 slice of canadian bacon. Because that is what I had in the ice box. If I had proscuito, I would have used it. Anyway, I toast 1 english muffin, after I split it with a fork of course. I beat 1 egg with about a tablespoon of milk and set it aside. Then in a small saute pan, I brown the bacon in EVOO for a minute or two before adding the onion. This is done at fairly high heat, stirring often and seasoning to taste. When the onions are translucent, I reduce the heat to medium and add the egg mixture and let it cook without stirring other than the original pass to incorporate all the ingredients. When it is mostly done, I flip it and mold the size to fit on a muffin by folding it in upon itself until fully cooked. I then place it on a buttered, toasted, english muffin. I add a little salsa to flavor it, and Voila. It was good. Enjoyed it with coffee and Activia yogurt. All this while listening to space music. What a good start for the day and the week. Santini, I will be accepting your invitation. Jimi, I will see about posting those recipes you mentioned.

Bye for now.

Cooking Blog

I have just finished commenting on my dear younger brother's blog in which he mentions the love of our father, fried green tomatoes. I am also a proponent of this delicacy. It seems the sons of Tom Miller share a passion with our father. We enjoy the art of cooking. I was unaware that there were more in the family. Cooking is a passion of mine and has become much more so over the last few years. Ever since I partnered with my dear lady wife who is a much better cook than I. And I am pretty good. I find that I enjoy the prep work and clean up in the kitchen. Now Santini will tell you that is a much changed attitude from when I was a teen. And she would be correct. But time and experience along with necessity has tempered that. I love the chopping and prepping of veggies for the dishes that my lady prepares. I also love to work on salads, making them unusual and tasty with as much visual appeal as I can conjure at the moment of creation. Sweet potatoes are another area where I have achieved some noteriety. I love omelets of all kinds. Roasting many types of fowl also seems to be a hit. Along with the concoction of soups, slow cooker meals, jambalya, and gumbo. Hey, I love to cook. Especially when there is someone to cook it for. I prepare some mean fish meals as well. So, bring on the recipes gang. Let us see if we can create a cookbook of our own. Why not? What else is time and experience good for?

See you all later. Yehear?
